Howdy,
welcome to Spring and new plant growth in Australia,
and welcome to the cold in Europe teehee!

With the windy Melbourne days
I'm more and more conscious of rubbish everywhere
and I do urge you all to make it a point
of picking up rubbish off the streets
every day! It's a win-win situation!

IN SPACE
(9 minutes)

 There are three of us sitting in the backyard. We’ve been mowing the grass, cutting the hedge, painting the flowers, and farting on the trampoline. Now we’re taking a break, and drinking some lemonade. You’ve got light blue shorts on that come down to your ankles, and a t-shirt that says: “I am Invisible”. Yoga Bear is chewing his boots and dreaming about the time he went fishing in a bowl of cereal. And Nigel KneeNuts is pouring lemonade all over his face to cool himself down. It’s quite hot, in the middle of summer, in the middle of the day.

Grains are an important part of our diet. Not only do they provide us with carbohydrates which are essential for energy, but many grains have additional health benefits that when consumed may assist our overall health. There are more and more products sold in the supermarket made from grains besides wheat, such as rye. Rye has long been considered the grain for women’s health but it also deserves attention from men due to its heart health benefits. Besides rye being good source of dietary fibre, it also helps the body to reduce LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and improve digestive health, preventing colon cancers in both men and women. Rye has long been linked to helping women in menopause as the Rye grains contain plant chemicals that mimic the hormone estrogen and may reduce the effects of menopause. Rye products are often considered to be heavy or have full flavour in comparison to wheat based products. The heavy-ness of rye bread also helps to satisfy hunger, and leaves you feeling full for longer helping those wishing to lose weight.

STOPPING

A fast life, especially one lived in a city,
often juggling work, kids, partners, plus hobbies...
well it's quite possible to live a long time flat-out
without stopping for pauses
and then retiring at 65 and falling apart physically!

Some people have breakdowns much earlier,
but relationships also suffer under the strain of stress
and the pressure of western life.

The most effective tool of all,
to arrest the build up of pressure and stress,
is to STOP. And Meditate, just for 5 minutes.

Stillness meditation provides such happiness, boons,
calm, health, and also ideas.
All one has to do is sit still, do nothing,
for 5 minutes. It's not that hard.

Focus on one's breathing, slow everything down,
and then take the time to look at what's in front of you.
Perfect for Anxiety, your mind may still race
but it does that all day anyway.
Start to learn how to slow it down.

Everyone benefits if you take this time.

ASTROLOGY

On Wednesday 23rd September at 7.20am
the Equinox occurs and Librans become flavour of the month.

Librans - with the charm and beauty of all that is in balance
(and hopeless decision-makers for sure!)
- usually socially-attractive personalities
and creative minds.

A good way for a Libran to find certainty and peace
is to take 5 minutes a day and sit outside
and meditate - be still, focus on your breath.
(Funnily enough, this works for all Starsigns!)

We begin Daylight Savings on Oct 4th
(for those in Victoria at least)
and the cows get up one hour earlier in Qld.

HEALTH REPORT

It's that great time of the year again when some people
run for cover, avoid flowers, and mourn the new breezes.

Warning: the use of Anti-hystamines has severe
and negative repercussions for one's health
- not just the immune system and hormonal system

To numb the area of the nasal passage is highly foolish
and any long-term sinus/breath-practice will show you that.

Yogis have always looked at the sinus area
as a crucial element of mental health balance.
Any breakdown or drugs will seriously destabilise
one's moods, awareness, and sense of clarity.

A perfect and world-wide accepted therapy
for all sinus problems is Jala Neti (the Neti pot).
Warm salt water flown through the nose each morning
provides countless health benefits
and obviously helps clear dust and pollen.
