* 21/07/09 * Hi, hasn't the winter weather been beautiful! So many clear sunny days. If you're getting poor circulation to your toes and fingers in the cold, try loosening the joints in each limb; ie: shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers; and hips, knees, ankles, toes. A couple minutes getting the blood-flow moving and clearing the tightness of muscles - works a treat. Do it regularly and your body learns it. * TRY THIS! Going for a short walk every night AFTER you've eaten dinner. It's so good for digestion, as opposed to sitting on the couch. Benefits: a) will definitely help remove pot-belly; b) Great to get outside of small little loungeroom world and keep perspective on the suburb and community; c) Fresh air as opposed to indoor-heating, provides energy and oxygen; d) great social experience with housemates; e)live the 'Mediterranean' lifestyle in Melbourne! PS: Try not to get mugged. * NUTRITION with Hayley Moulds We all know that nutritional experts have been telling us
to ensure that we consume enough dairy foods everyday for strong healthy bones and teeth, and for most Australian's this is easily achieved. Our bones are meant to stay strong enough to last our lifetime, but what we eat effects the role of calicum in the body. A diet high in salt is considered to be more than 2000mg
or 1 teaspoon daily, this is getting harder to achieve with more salt being added to processed foods. But a diet high in salt over a period of 10 years may reduce your bone density by 15%, as salt hinders calicum absorption in the body. Our bone density continues to build and peaks usually around our early 30s. As we age our bones naturally become thinner as the body uses the calicum in our bones it has stored. A diet high in salt reduces our stores of calicum which will ultimately impact the density of our bones as we grow old. Always choose low salt food products

I did start out with what you couldn't stand about your parents, but disrespect is perhaps a more reasonable case. Have a look, it may surprise you. I know I'm doing it! This practice provides an opportunity to let go of the constant mental chatter and instead rest in the space of the heart. It is also a chance to give expression to any pent up emotions through your own voice. No singing experience is neccessary, all voices welcome! Kirtan is now on the last SUNDAY of each month from 6.30-8.30pm. The new venue is Prana House, 1/885 High Street in Thornbury (on the 86 tram line). $5 donation to cover costs.
