Hi,

Spring's coming and with it
the gathering of energy in the Southern Hemisphere.
This can be understood in the way that
- as autumn closes down, darkens, plants withdraw -
now in Spring the opposite starts happening.

We all exist within the synergy of nature,
so you can expect some of this to include your own
burgeoning expression, confidence, moods, ideas...opening up.

A great way to energise is to have 3 deep Yoga breaths.
This can be done in the car at the lights,
at the tram stop, before brushing teeth,
or waiting for the toaster or your lover!

Do this regularly in synch with the
re-energised environment.
This is one way of aligning oneself with nature.

ORAL HEALTH

I have thought of myself as very healthy,
but when I went to the dentist recently,
I realised another aspect of health - Oral Health!

Personally, this was always an area that I neglected,
and certainly underestimated.
Now integrity has been restored,
because I understand that good cleaning
twice daily is a must, plus at least a nightly floss.

For those who already knew this, well done.

I'm writing this for those
who might have been like me.

Go to the dentist!
It's so much less painful these days
and modern technology makes it a cruise.

And nightly dental care is much more important
than morning care, plus the dentist reckons
mouthwashes are not good at all - pure myth.

NUTRITION

Feeling tired?
 Often in winter we are more likely to suffer from tiredness
and fatigue. Improving our intake of Iron has a dramatic effects
on our concentration, energy levels and even our mood.

Iron is responsible for moving oxygen to the rest of our body.
Eating red meat is an easy way of increasing our Iron levels.
But if you're not a keen red meat lover or are watching your intake
of saturated fats, then try these foods:  - they are also high in iron,
and dont have the high levels of saturated (animal) fats
associated with them - Dried apricots, figs, muesli,
wholegrain bread, baked beans, lentils, prunes (dates),
raisins and nuts such as almonds.

Avoid excessive levels of tea, coffee, antacids and aspirin
as these hinder the performance of iron in the body.
 
Also dont forget to consume vitamin C, as it helps the body
to asborb the iron. So eat plenty of citrus or a glass of orange juice
not orange drink!

Love - the life-long search for it,
why people get angry, and why people get scared...

 If you've ever been hurt by someone in the past,
or let down, you'll appreciate how hard it is to accept,
or understand, why a person did this to you -
or how they were able to be so uncaring, insensitive, etc…
and yet such rueful meditations will not necessarily provide solace.

The fact is: most people carry a great deal of hurt, sadness, and anger deep inside them, and these pains spiral outwards in relationships.
We are all sharing our pains, and learning to love together. It's a beautiful dance.

The more one stops,
meditates, and becomes aware,
the more one realises that every moment is stable,
and nothing is threatening or insecure.
The room is here, it is all here, everything is all here...

The perfect antidote for Anxiety
is smooth, slow, deep breathing.
In until full, Out until empty. SLOWLY.
(Through the nose).

The reason is this: the instant a person
experiences anxiety, their breathing tightens.
Reverse the process, for great results!
