They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to
appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them
Take the time.

This ANZAC Day is Sunday April 25th
and so the normal 10-12 class will NOT be running.

A NEW CLASS HAS BEEN ADDED
TO THE TIMETABLE:

Saturday 4.00pm - 5.30 (with Carmela).

This will become a regular part of the timetable as of May 1st.
Carmela has been doing teacher training, and is now ready to take over a regular class.
She also has excellent training in Tibetan Buddhim and teaches Meditation classes in the city.
I'm sure she will add some of this knowledge to her Yoga classes.

It is the symbol for the 3rd Eye Chakra
which is the region of awareness and enlightenment.

EGO AND ENLIGHTENMENT

Here is something that was written by a Tibetan master,
but it applies to all spiritual and personal growth.

 
To end the bizarre tyranny of ego is why we go on the spiritual path,
but the resourcefulness of ego is almost infinite and it can at every stage sabotage
and pervert our desire to be free of it.  The truth is simple and the (Buddhist)
teachings are extremely clear, but…. as soon as they begin to touch and move us,
ego tries to complicate them because it knows it is fundamentally threatened.

 When the teachings begin to touch us deeply, unavoidably we are faced
with the truth of ourselves.  As the ego is revealed,
its sore spots are touched and all sorts of problems will start arising.

 As ego watches us gleefully become more and more ensnared in its web,
it will even blame all the pain, loneliness and difficulties we are going through
- as we come to know ourselves on the teaching - and even on the teacher.

TATTWA SHUDDHI

I'd promised to update on my personal discovery of, and experiences with,
this uncommonly known and highly advanced range of Yogic practices.

So far it is clear beyond doubt that I have embarked upon a journey
both amazing and exciting. Apart from learning very elaborate 'definitions'
of Reality, Existence, and Consciousness - which will no doubt become clearer
for me as I continue - in a practical sense right now I'm focusing most on Yantra Meditation.

A Yantra is something like Sacred Geometry. Mathematical and exact designs
which carry the energetic form or visualisation of particular aspects of Consciousness.
Here is an example:

I have spent quite some time meditating upon Yantra such as this.
The aim is to focus upon the central dot. As with all meditation,
there is a 'point of focus', and even though one will start thinking and drift away,
inevitably one will realise this, and come back to the point of focus.

So why would this be considered an advanced Yogic practice?
Because it is all about the Mind. I'm quite sure already that this practice
will take my awareness and mindfulness way beyond where any stretching pose
or even Pranayama can take me. And yet, really, unless one is good at meditation,
it is not so easily accessed. Already, personally, it has fast-tracked my meditative ability,
and hence my ability to understand Mind.
This is a great boon for a human understanding of ' the experience of experience'.

The trick is not to try to make the image come towards you.

The practice of Yantra Meditation will very quickly bring changes into one's life.
And these changes will always be considered to be positive and useful,
because they occur as 'Resolution'.

DEATH AGAIN


Some Melbournians may have heard of a fire death tragedy in Mt. Macedon.
The two people were my Godparents - both very caring, supportive people.

I'm mentioning this because, having read, understood, and processed
The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying (Sogyal Rinpoche)
- I had the tools to handle the whole experience of another death.

I feel completely ready for death and its implications, totally resolved, and strong.
This is a very nice thing to know, at such a tenuous time.

I'm telling you all this so that you waste no further time yourselves
and read this book asap. It will save your life.

ASTROLOGY

Yesterday Tuesday the 20th at 2.30pm we entered the sun sign of Taurus.

TAURUS: The faithful providers. Our role is to produce the good things
that make for a secure and pleasurable life.

Taurians are very reliable friends to have
although they may get their heads in the sand a bit
and refuse to admit this, even if the sand tastes crunchy!
A good idea this year would be for Taurians to Meditate,
not on their own thoughts, but on the ideas of others.
There is much insight around us, if we only take time to Listen.

The Moon enters Scorpio on Wed 28th April, at 10.20pm.

HEALTH REPORT
from Doctor Qu'ac

THE THYROID

The thyroid gland is a vital lymphatic organ and it regulates the amounts of Thyroxin
in the body, depending on the metabolism's level of performance/state of play.
If the metabolism is down (rate of development in the cells is dull), more thyroxin will
be made and released. This is the usual scenario, but problems occur with overactive,
underactive thyroids, and even inflamed and enlarged thyroids too.

There's such a simple Psycho-Somatic cause for all thyroid problems:
If any human worries about/feels that the 'rate of development' of their own life,
(or even that of their children, small business, partners...) is not moving at a rate
that seems proper, this person will experience changes/problems in their thyroid function.

If they try - in an unconsciously obsessive way - to force this problem to change,
they will be overactive, and also possibly inflamed. If they give up hope, despair,
or think nothing will change, they'll become underactive.

The main thing to understand is that - as with ALL Psycho-Somatic maladies -
this only happens to a person if they are deeply focused on this issue,
usually for a long time, and they feel disempowered or restrained/stressed by its impact.

The solution is also simple: It mus be Understood that the rate of development in a person's life
is ALWAYS moving at the correct rate. It may just be that the person
does not notice this because they are focusing on certain value systems and neglecting others.
Life is merely a cycle of moments, challenges, experiences, learning curves...
it is ALWAYS developing, we are always learning, and we are always making choices
based on our needs and priorities.

Meditation will highlight such obvious rationale.
People develop at the rate they need to, always appropriately to their choices and needs.
Everything moves in natural ways, nothing is amiss, there are no gaps in experience.

People just lose sight of this. The thyroid helps to remind us.

NUTRITION

It should make plain sense to eat the fruit and veg that is seasonal.
This gets confused if you shop at supermarkets because often they have food
that has been in cold storage for months (!) and also which comes from Queensland.
None of these types would be relevant for Victorians now, such as mangoes and Pineapples.
This is why we in Preston are so lucky to have the Preston Market for our fresh produce.

It's coming up to soup season, with many root vegetables being auspicious.
Vitamin C load-ups come from mandarins, kiwi fruits; and oranges will hit town in a big way soon.

I have an organic date every day for breakfast, plus apple, mandarin, kiwifruit, flaxmeal...
also first thing I have a cleanse drink of Wheatgrass and Barleygrass powders.
This is great. Soy milk (I rarely have dairy now), plus I've mostly removed bread from my diet.

Personally I believe bread, rice and pasta to be pretty useless for my body and generally avoid them.
All I can say is that I'm healthier than I've ever been. So I'm continuing in this way.

If you don't eat exceptionally well, then remember this is a CHOICE.
And it will likely affect your health. Do what feels right, and be responsible for the results.
