Greetings the days are getting longer
and Spring hits technically in 2 weeks.
It's a good time to start opening up the body again,
release lethargy and bacteria, start breathing wonderfully,
getting fresh in the cells, blood, and the Mind.

Remember: Yoga never stops working,
it can be returned to, restarted, re-born at any time.
The memory of Health and Release is always stored.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

LAND OF YOGA RETREAT IN NOVEMBER
CUP WEEKEND - JUICE FAST!

Toby has booked  the Maitripa Buddhist Meditation Centre in Healesville,
from 4pm Saturday 30th October - 4pm Tuesday 2nd November.
So this will be 3 day Retreat with a major emphasis on HEALTH.

Closer to the date I will release an exact plan for each day;
suffice it to say there will be at least 2 yoga classes per day,
meditation time, walking time...

*It has now been decided that this will be a Spring Cleanse Retreat
and so we will all be doing an organic Juice Fast!
This means we will be juicing organic fruit and veg for the 3 days
and doing a total cleanse. With this will come the obligatory gasps and so on
and it will be fun for all winging together, getting grumpy and then hitting mega-highs!

That's what can be expected when one does a juice fast for 3 days
with lots of water and Yoga and meditation and walking...
A few days later your skin will be shining and people will tell you how healthy you look. Spring is the perfect time for this.


I've booked for 6-16 places, although with interest this number may be increased.
We'll each have a single renovated room, which will be simple in its arangement.
The heating will be fine, if it gets cold.

We'll have our own space, including kitchen lounge and yoga room.
We'll be left to our own devices in what I have been told is
a beautiful and peaceful retreat centre.

The price is looking somewhere about $220 per person everything included.
I'll confirm that closer to the date (it also depends on how many come).

SINUS HEALTH

The following photo might shock some people
but it's an example of some of the more radical health practices
used in Yoga to maintain optimum physical and mental balance.

As anyone with blocked sinuses can tell you,
the sinus region is a crucial area for the well-being of the head.
Restricted breathing access is of no benefit to anyone
and head colds, allergies, inflammations...these are common ailments.

Thanks to Oprah Winfrey the mainstream world
is now well-informed about Jala Neti - the water pot
that is used to clean and clear the nostrils... this is an incredibly effective
cleanser of dust and chicken wings and the like
that get stuck in the nasal passage...it also allows one to learn
how to release the tension within the head, forehead, and cheekbones.
This is one way to stop migraines and headaches.

Anyway, below is a photo of me doing Sutra Neti
- pulling a thin waxed thread through my nose into my mouth.
It is a more violent action than the water cleanser,
but also helps remove stronger blockages.

BUDDHIST WISDOMS

I practice meditation every day. Each time I sit is an experiment with wonder and boredom,
relaxation and anxiousness, exhilaration and tiredness, alertness and dullness,
spaciousness and confinement, wisdom and confusion.

Meditate. It will change your life.


You will still feel sad angry hurt afraid jealous insecure.
You will still feel happy loving courageous wise.
You will still need to do your tax return, go to work, do the dishes, vacuum.
You will still read to your children, snuggle with your lover, listen to music and dance.

Through meditation, we learn to feel and do all these things with the magic of attention and awareness. Meditation teaches us to be present to all of experience, to all of life.  And presence changes everything.

HEALTH REPORT
from Doctor Qu'ac

TONSILITIS

  To understand the tonsils we need to first understand the mouth.
The mouth is part of the digestion system. In Psycho-Somatics Digestion always relates to Experience
(so are diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation - as part of the digestion) 

The mouth is there to check the experiences one takes on. It samples,
and is responsible for rejecting any incoming experiences (food) it does not like/want.

 The tonsils protect the mouth in its ability to do this. They basically are like the doctor for the mouth
ensuring it can continue this role. When the tonsils are inflammed (as in tonsilitis)
they are trying to Increase the protection...to protect it because it sees its ability
to CHOOSE the experiences arising is being compromised. 

In Life, this may result in a feeling of powerlessness in the face of life's events.
EG: a man who was sick of working long hours, decided that on the week-end
he was going to do what he wanted. He became so obsessed with protecting his right/ability
to have this weekend (experience), and was obsessive about protecting against anything
that would threaten his ability to have it, and then got a bout of tonsilitis.
He believed that he needed to increase the protection against any threats which might
have undermined his ability to CHOOSE which life experiences he would have. 

Essentially, a person who suffers from tonsilitis is someone who tends to believe
that there are good experiences and bad experiences - rather than there being just experiences.
They will become obsessive about picking and choosing what they will or won't do or be forced to do,
and will become obsessive about their need to protect their own ability to control this aspect of Life.

At its heart is basically a lack of trust in the universe / life that all is going along as it should.

A good listener realises that in every experience is an opportunity to grow
and learn and live, and only a fool would try to control events.

soon it will be time to start lightening up the diet and cleansing.

Try to relate to your diet out of more than just flavour or habit.

On Monday 23rd August at 3.27pm we will enter the sign/realm of Virgo.

VIRGO: The Superior Craftsmen: Our role is to set the highest standards of quality
in whatever tasks we do.

Virgoans are very earthy and always insightful and astute.
They can also be pedantic and negative/critical.
Often useful for constructive purposes, get your Virgo friends
to help you with problems, and you'll find bags of gold.

Virgoans are sensitive, just like everyone else, and can be more critical
of themselves than others, so if you have a Virgo partner, be caring to them.
They will appear strong and independent, because they don't cry out for attention.

This year it'd be good for Virgoans to take holidays, be artistic,
Meditate, and go dancing.
